This is really embarrasing, but I haven't sent it out yet. I collected addresses twice but am still waiting for three to pass on theirs as I only received "me too" messages, as well as three different covers for it from people who promised to design them - I have received one cover design so far from Mo Holkar. Now I'm thinking of making a CD or two instead (as I have gotten access to the equipment required recently). I guess a tape is okay, but a CD is better, right? Any and all input on this is welcome. If a tape is okay, I can send it this week, if not I'll make CDs which means another week or two. Now, i wouldn't say i preferingly would play that kind of music. I am open for suggestions, if there are any. Annica ------------------------------ Date: 29 Jul 1998 10:48:06 +0200 From: Robert Cumming Subject: report from Europride '98 Well, not much to say on the indie front, really (for news from the other fronts, see :-), but, hell, somebody's got to fly the rainbow flag here (and the indie flag in the queer world), and it might as well be me... - Spotted NINA RAMSBY from Grand Tone Music at the Dykeye lesbian film festival. Decided not to disturb her, but laid plans for disturbing her some other time. Anyone going to see them at Tanto on Friday? - Missed the QUEERPUNK concert/club at Studion, because it was _jampacked_ and we coulnd't get in. People were spilling out onto the street outside, just sitting around, being sociable and having a good time. I hadn't heard of any of the bands that were to be playing, but I imagine they're bigger now than they were before... - POIKATYTTO"T ('Boygirls' or possibly 'tomboy) from Finland! The indie highlight of the week for me and, well, about a dozen of their mates from Helsinki. A really excellent kick-ass lesbian band, singing about sex in Finnish; maybe you could call it emocore, somewhere in between Salt and Fireside perhaps. A singer indeed. Do you need one? Quite honestly, i couldn't tell what kind of music i want to play. So i won't. Though, it would be nice not having to focus on being heard through a wall of sound. It sounds crap, but no matter what kind of music, there's always some good, some bad. I want to make some good. Of course. All kids of merry music would be very excluded. I've been listening alot to female vocalists such as Kate Bush and Jane Siberry lately. Don't know if that's anything for me to do though. Not enogh attitude (as some of us are told to be gifted with an attitude problem). Otherwise, i am way too much into early eighties blip blop music. Don't want to do that either. That leaves an opening for anyone to fill. As i said, anyone with suggestions, throw them upon me. Anything that suits having a very blackcladded woman on stage will do at this time.
