She is really excited about it. Anneli and Tor Magnus (Bel Canto web site manager) exchanged phone numbers backstage after Bel Cantos concert March 21st at Rockefeller (b/c Simon contacted TM about contacting Anneli). As the Stockholm Water Festival were supposed to open their newly designed 1998 festival website *today* (I don't have to tell you they haven't...) they probably sent out press releases to various "majors" in the media business - so I do think the Aftonbladet list today is accurate. I'd probably be listening to Radio Stockholm day in and day out if it was - there's nothing even remotely funny with the local stuff we have here. :) //Erik ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 17 May 1998 00:08:29 +0200 (MET DST) From: Martin Eksten Subject: Loosegoats at Lunds nation next week Loosegoats are scheduled to play at Lunds nation in Lund on Friday 22 May. For those of you not familiar with this event; it is arranged by the students at Lund university (the biggest university in northern Europe, and together with Uppsala regarded as the major university in Sweden) every fourth year. Last time, in 1994, it was visited by more than 300 000 people, which is a lot of people considering the fact that Lund has less than 100 000 inhabitants! Lundakarnevalen starts on Friday, 22 May, and ends on Sunday, 24 May. However, all of the student nations (13) arrange their own little carnival and some of those start already on Wednesday. You have to be a student to visit the nations (students at other universities need to buy a guest card), but everyone can get into the main carnival area situated in the park Lundagard in central Lund. You don't have to be a fan of alcohol and student humour to enjoy the carnival. Being a fan of music is good enough! Quite a lot of bands are playing, but IMHO the list is not as impressing as in 1994. Highlights this year include Teenage Fanclub, Loosegoats, Komeda, Soundtrack of our Lives, Olle Ljungstrom, Caesar's Palace and Broder Daniel. The Jesus and Mary Chain were rumoured to play, but will not as far as I know. Here is an incomplete list of the bands (bands playing at Mejeriet, Palladium and other 'normal' venues are not included; some of the bands playing at Lunds, Malmo and Smalands nations are not included as I couldn't find the information): Wednesday, 20 May: t.b.a., Lunds nation (Sideshow Bob are *not* playing. It still is a members only club - you need to call* or fax+ them in advance (a week or at least several days ahead) and give them your name, social security number (personnummer) and the event you will come there to see. When you get there you need to tell them that "I'm on the list".
